Job Title: Asset Drainage Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drainage Engineer to join our team in Telford & Wrekin Council's Drainage & Flood Risk Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our highways drainage assets and helping to mitigate flood risk in the Borough.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain our highways drainage assets, including reactive maintenance and customer liaison.
  • Work closely with our Term Service Contractor to deliver a risk-based gully maintenance programme.
  • Use drainage software and have experience working as a designer and supervisor for drainage schemes.
  • Have experience in NEC3 and be able to provide your own transport with insurance for business use.
  • Work in a team of engineers and flood risk officers on a variety of tasks in the Borough.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrable experience of drainage maintenance in a Local Authority setting.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work quickly and efficiently to solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate solutions to internal and external parties.
