Job Title: Highways Drainage Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Highways Drainage Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Telford & Wrekin Council. As a key member of our Drainage & Flood Risk Team, you will be responsible for maintaining the Council's highways drainage assets and managing highways flood risk in the Borough.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Council's highways drainage assets, including reactive maintenance and customer liaison.
  • Work closely with our Term Service Contractor to deliver a risk-based gully maintenance programme.
  • Use drainage software to identify capital improvement schemes to manage highways flood risk.
  • Provide technical expertise to internal and external parties, including contractors and customers.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field, such as civil engineering or environmental science.
  • Demonstrable experience of drainage maintenance in a Local Authority setting.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work quickly and efficiently to solve problems.
  • Ability to use drainage software and experience working as a designer and supervisor for drainage schemes.
  • Experience in NEC3 and ability to provide own transport with insurance for business use.
