The Opportunity:

Avantor is currently seeking a skilled Shipping Technician to join our team in Cambridge, UK. As a key member of our Samples Dispatch facilities, you will take ownership of supporting day-to-day operations and play a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of biological samples.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, pack, prepare, and ship R&D samples globally, adhering to all relevant legislation and transport regulations.
  • Dispatch goods, ensuring accurate documentation and labelling meets IATA/ADR/IMDG, Health and Safety, CLP (GHS), and customs standards.
  • Supervise materials with special handling, storage, or distribution requirements, such as hazardous shipments and temperature-critical materials.
  • Proactively track shipments and investigate any missing shipments or errors.
  • Create, maintain, and update relevant documentation in support of service delivery, compliance, and training.

Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in shipping, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Desirable experience in shipping dangerous goods or scientific materials, with knowledge of CLP, GHS, and REACH regulations.
  • Exposure to stock ordering and warehouse management software.
