Senior Regulatory Lawyer and Deputy Clerk to the Board

Bournemouth University is seeking a highly skilled Senior Regulatory Lawyer and Deputy Clerk to the Board to lead the provision of regulatory legal advice to the University and the Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the University operates compliantly within regulatory frameworks, including the Office for Students (OfS), Consumer Protection Law, Charity Law, and Data Protection Law.
The role will involve working closely with the University Executive Team, Heads of Faculties and Services, and Board and Committee members to provide high-quality specialist legal advice and support the delivery of Corporate Governance activities. The postholder will also be responsible for drafting and reviewing specialist legal and governance documentation, contracts, and Board and Committee papers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the provision of regulatory legal advice to the University and the Board
- Ensure the University operates compliantly within regulatory frameworks
- Work closely with the University Executive Team, Heads of Faculties and Services, and Board and Committee members
- Draft and review specialist legal and governance documentation, contracts, and Board and Committee papers
- Support the delivery of Corporate Governance activities
The successful candidate will have a strong background in regulatory law and governance, with experience in working with regulatory frameworks, including the OfS, Consumer Protection Law, Charity Law, and Data Protection Law. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
