Bridlington, East Yorkshire, United Kingdom East Riding of Yorkshire Council Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced practitioner to join our Intensive Family Support Service as an Intensive Family Coordinator.

The successful candidate will work intensively with a small group of families with diverse and complex needs, providing practical support, modelling skills, and walking alongside families to make and sustain changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic support packages to families, working alongside social workers and other partners to address key worries such as neglect, poor home conditions, and safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Work flexibly and quickly adapt to fast-changing circumstances, visiting families in their homes and out in the community multiple times a week for extended visits.
  • Empower families to build and sustain change through a relational, strengths-based approach, identifying and building on strengths within family systems to build resilience and skills.
  • Deliver high-quality, outcomes-focused support to children and their families, working independently and within timescales to balance conflicting priorities.
Requirements
  • Be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant area, such as health and social care or social work.
  • Have experience of supporting families and a commitment to providing excellent support to children and their families.
  • Understand how a relational, strengths-based approach can empower families to build and sustain change.
  • Be able to work flexibly and quickly adapt to fast-changing circumstances.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to demonstrate a high level of motivation.
About Us

We are a diverse team with a range of professional backgrounds, including education, family support, social work, mental health, youth work, youth justice, and housing.

We are committed to Signs of Safety as a practice framework and have developed a bespoke practice model that reflects and connects our vision, value base, and behaviour as one East Riding of Yorkshire approach to working with children, young people, and their families.
