Clinical Lead Psychologist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary chronic pain team based in the East Sussex area. The successful candidate will have a passion for working in the field of chronic pain management and experience of managing a caseload within a physical health setting.
Main Duties of the Job
The Principal Psychologist will provide specialist psychological assessments and formulations, and deliver individual and group interventions as part of our interdisciplinary community-based chronic pain service. They will work alongside nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, and develop and foster conducive relationships with local and national clinical stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and relationship skills, and be resilient in responding to sometimes hostile, antagonistic, or highly emotive situations. They will use their knowledge, experience, and skills to provide advice and consultation on psychological aspects of pain management to other health professionals, and advance knowledge and practice of psychological theories and principles.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a British Psychological Society Accredited post-graduate doctoral degree in an applied field of psychology, and be registered with The Health & Care Professions Council as a 'Practitioner Psychologist'. Experience working in an interdisciplinary chronic pain service is desirable.
