Assessment Specialist

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise in assessment and quality assurance. As an Assessor, you will be responsible for marking learner portfolios against the appropriate marking scheme and making decisions on the evidence presented.
Key Responsibilities- Support learners in planning for their assessment and agreeing the timescale for the learner's evidence to be completed.
- Provide constructive feedback to learners about their performance and achievement, giving clear explanations about the assessment decisions.
- Work with the Internal Quality Assurer to create a sampling strategy for internal quality assurance, including planning sampling dates throughout the year.
- Complete all relevant assessment forms correctly and return them to the internal quality assurer and/or Centre Coordinator within the agreed timescale.
- Stay up-to-date with any changes made to IOSH policies, processes, or procedures, and to the content of the qualification specification.
- Be aware of External Quality Assurance visits and ensure any past actions have been carried out.
- Apply an understanding of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion to all situations.
- Knowledge of quality systems, assessments, and processes.
- Knowledge of assessment and training principles.
- Excellent organisation and planning skills.
- Evidence of at least 3 years of working in an educational quality assurance role with knowledge of assessment and quality assurance principles.
- Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment or equivalent.
