About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join IOSH as an Assessment Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mark learner portfolios against the appropriate marking scheme and make decisions on the evidence presented.
  • Ensure assessment methods align with the qualification specification and provide advice to learners on suitable evidence.
  • Support learners in planning and agreeing assessment timelines and provide constructive feedback on performance.
  • Discuss and implement reasonable adjustments and special considerations for learners, ensuring documentation meets required procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Internal Quality Assurer to create a sampling strategy for internal quality assurance.
  • Undertake regular standardisation meetings with the IQA and complete assessment forms correctly.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes to IOSH policies, processes, and procedures, and the qualification specification.
  • Be aware of External Quality Assurance visits and implement recommendations.
  • Take responsibility for your own health, safety, and wellbeing, and undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities.
  • Treat all employees, customers, and stakeholders with dignity and respect, demonstrating IOSH values and behaviours.
  • Apply Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion principles to all situations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of quality systems, assessments, and processes.
  • Understanding of OSH sector and assessment principles.
  • Excellent organisation, planning, and communication skills.
  • Robust IT skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work to defined processes and conditions.
  • Self-assurance and ability to confidently ask questions.
