Assessment Specialist

About the Role
As an Assessor at IOSH, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our assessment processes. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct assessments in a fair and inclusive manner, maintaining a consistent approach in line with IOSH assessment standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake assessments with a high level of professionalism and integrity
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessment outcomes and candidate feedback
- Collaborate with the IOSH Professional Development Lead and Senior Assessor to ensure consistency in assessment processes
- Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to ensure candidate success
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of educational assessment requirements and processes
- Demonstrable knowledge of the OSH sector
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Robust IT skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-assurance and ability to confidently ask questions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrable assessment marking experience, with IOSH or other Institution or Awarding Organisation
- Evidence of at least 3 years of working in an educational quality assurance role with knowledge of assessment and quality assurance principles
- Relevant subject expert, qualified to at least Level 6 in the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Sector
- A relevant and appropriate assessment qualification, or willingness to undertake a qualification
- Hold Chartered Membership status with IOSH
