Our client, a local authority in Somerset, is seeking a Senior Planner/Enforcement Officer for an initial 3-month contract. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with planning regulations and addressing breaches of planning control for complex cases across Somerset. Key responsibilities include:

* Investigating complaints regarding breaches of planning control
* Conducting site visits to assess compliance with planning permissions
* Preparing and serving enforcement notices and other legal documents
* Providing advice and guidance to the public, developers, and other stakeholders on planning enforcement matters
* Representing the council at planning appeals, public inquiries, and court proceedings

As a Senior Planner/Enforcement Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the planning system and upholding the law.
