Digital Communications Coordinator

Durham University is a world-leading research university, known for its academic excellence and innovative approach to teaching and learning. We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Coordinator to join our Institute for Advanced Study, which is dedicated to promoting interdisciplinary research and collaboration. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing our communication strategy, working closely with our team to create engaging content and materials that showcase the work of our researchers and academics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital communications, with experience of managing social media platforms, creating content for websites and other online channels, and liaising with stakeholders to gather information and insights.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing our social media presence, including creating and scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring engagement metrics
- Developing and implementing our communication strategy, working closely with our team to create engaging content and materials that showcase the work of our researchers and academics
- Creating content for our website, including writing articles, editing images, and designing graphics
- Liaising with stakeholders to gather information and insights, and to promote our work and events
- Working with our team to plan and deliver events and activities that showcase the work of our researchers and academics
Requirements
- Strong background in digital communications, with experience of managing social media platforms and creating content for websites and other online channels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content and messages for different audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and insights to inform our communication strategy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy
Salary
Estimated at £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
