Development Manager Job Opportunity

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is pleased to be supporting a Local Authority in Derbyshire on the hire of a Development Manager (Grade 13 – Assistant Director equivalent). This is a full-time and permanent position (37 hours per week) with hybrid working arrangements, allowing for 2-3 days of remote work per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional planning leadership and strategic management of staff within the Development Management Section.
  • Be responsible for the operational delivery and performance of the Council's Development Management service, including development management, planning enforcement, conservation and design, and trees and landscapes.
Requirements
  • Relevant Town Planning qualification or a related discipline.
  • Substantial Development Management experience.
  • Detailed budget management and business planning experience.
  • Staff management experience.
  • Enthusiastic, creative and positive approach.
  • Up to date and extensive development management knowledge.
  • Driving Licence and ability to visit sites throughout the council's area.
