Job Summary

The Director of Workforce Development is a key member of the Appalachian Sustainable Development team, responsible for leading the Groundwork Workforce Development Program. This role involves managing a team of staff, overseeing program implementation, and developing strategic plans for workforce development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Supervise a team of staff, including the Personal and Professional Development Manager, Commercial Kitchen Manager, and Capacity Building for Sustainability and Equity VISTA.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain the Groundwork strategic plan, participate in the Central Appalachian Network (CAN) Workforce Development Working Group, and identify opportunities for policy change and cost reduction.
  • Organizational Development: Participate in bi-weekly ASD Team Meetings, attend bi-weekly One on One Meetings with the Chief Program Officer, and facilitate financial grant closeout meetings.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in program management, strategic planning, or organizational development.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work in a hybrid remote environment.
