About the Role

The Laundry Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the objectives of the West of Scotland Laundry to provide a cost-effective and efficient linen service to the NHS Lanarkshire Consortium.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all required items are processed and delivered on-time and to the highest quality standards, while prioritizing the health, safety, and wellbeing of all staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of laundry services and related procedures
  • Undertake on-the-job training and induction to achieve full competency across a range of duties
  • Participate in risk assessing individual tasks and maintain a working knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training and mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) Standards
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to audit and work with others as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • SVQ2 in Laundry Operations or laundry workbook
  • Experience of working in a laundry environment or similar
  • Experience using laundry equipment, such as ironers and folders
Contract and Working Pattern

This is a part-time position, working 30.4 hours per week. The salary will be pro-rata.

The working pattern for this role will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
