Job Title: PhD Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher to join our team at Rothamsted Research in the UK. As a PhD Research Scientist, you will play a key role in our international project, One Crop Health, which aims to reduce the impact of agriculture on the environment.

About the Project

One Crop Health is a collaborative project between Rothamsted Research, the universities of Copenhagen and Aarhus in Denmark, and other international partners. Our goal is to study alternative approaches to reduce pesticide use and promote sustainable farming practices. As a member of our research team, you will contribute to the development of new methods and strategies for sustainable crop protection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a field sampling campaign across the UK to collect data on pests, weeds, and diseases.
  • Work with a field team to study the ecology of agricultural fields and understand the role of soil health and biodiversity in sustainable crop protection.
  • Contribute to the analysis of large combined datasets of farmland ecology across the UK and Denmark.
  • Collaborate with senior researchers, PhD students, and technical staff to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • PhD in a biological or environmental science discipline.
  • Experience in field sampling and analysis of biological data.
  • Track record in scientific writing and communication.
  • Collaborative team member with a passion for the environment and sustainable farming.
