Postdoctoral Researcher in Agroecology

Rothamsted Research is seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher to join our Agroecology group. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of innovative approaches to reduce pesticide use in UK farming.

About the Role

We are looking for a researcher with a PhD in a biological or environmental science discipline to work on the One Crop Health project. Your primary responsibility will be to manage a field sampling campaign across the UK, collecting data on pests, weeds, and diseases while studying the ecology of agricultural fields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement field sampling campaigns to collect data on pests, weeds, and diseases
  • Analyze and interpret biological data to inform research findings
  • Contribute to the development of innovative approaches to reduce pesticide use in UK farming
  • Collaborate with an international team of researchers to work on large combined datasets of farmland ecology
  • Communicate research findings through scientific writing and presentations
Requirements
  • PhD in a biological or environmental science discipline
  • Experience in field sampling and analysis of biological data
  • Track record in scientific writing and communication
