About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Recovery Lead to join our team at Solent NHS Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our mental health services and ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategy
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for recovery-focused practice across our mental health services.
    • Lead the expansion and development of our Recovery College, working in partnership with local stakeholders and community groups.
    • Collaborate with our Peer Lead to ensure that peer workers are valued and integral to our service delivery.
  • Clinical and Professional
    • Model recovery-focused practice, demonstrating personal responsibility, self-awareness, and self-advocacy.
    • Lead on raising awareness of recovery-focused language and coproduction with Trust staff and partner agencies.
    • Maintain good communication and effective working relationships across all disciplines and agencies.
  • Management and Leadership
    • Create and implement a strategy for place-based implementation of recovery practice, addressing local need and aligning with the wider organisation.
    • Lead on the embedding of meaningful coproduction and involvement in day-to-day practice.
    • Work closely with corporate teams to support the lived experience and wellbeing of our non-peer workforce.
  • Education and Research
    • Develop and deliver a comprehensive teaching and education package to various agencies and audiences.
    • Lead the establishment of routine data collection, enabling robust evaluation and a clear continuous improvement plan.
Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced and qualified individual who possesses the following skills and qualities:

  • Qualifications
    • Masters' degree level or equivalent experience.
    • Relevant health and care professional registration.
  • Experience
    • Experience of working in or alongside a Recovery College and with Peer workers.
    • Experience of leading in a complex and constantly changing NHS environment.
    • Experience of managing a team working with individuals with complex mental health issues.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Excellent understanding of theory and practice of the recovery approach, coproduction, and peer workers within the mental health field.
    • Ability to manage a large workload and effectively prioritise across competing agendas and stakeholders.
    • Proven record of leadership and communication skills.
