Research Assistant/Associate (Health Services Research)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Assistant/Associate to join our research team at Newcastle University. The successful candidate will work on one or both of our exciting projects: improving palliative care for people with multiple long-term conditions and investigating support for spiritual health in primary care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality research in an academic environment, including data collection and analysis
  • Lead an evidence synthesis project, planning and executing surveys, and recruiting and interviewing study participants
  • Work with our experts by experience, including lay co-applicants and expert stakeholder group
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to document research progress and report regularly to the PI and other team members
  • Compile reports for funders and peer-reviewed publications, present data at group meetings and conferences, and prepare feedback for participants

Requirements

  • Experience of conducting applied health research on sensitive topics
  • Experience of evidence synthesis, qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Ability to carry out research project work within agreed timelines, meeting project milestones and producing research to an appropriate standard
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect research/personal data according to protocols and principles of good research practice
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a range of settings and situations across disciplines
