Medical Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator to join our busy team at Pendle View Medical Centre in Brierfield, Lancashire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with incoming telephone calls, signposting patients to the appropriate service or healthcare professional, and providing a professional and comprehensive information support service to the practice team.
Main Responsibilities
- Process appointment requests from patients by telephone or by the relevant NHS approved communication tool, following the Care Navigation protocol.
- Provide a point of reception contact for patients and act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors, and other members of the clinical and administrative staff.
- Undertake a range of clerical tasks, including the use of a PC for data inputting and operation of the EMIS Web system.
- Gain a working knowledge of clinical coding and the QOF reporting system.
Person Specification
We are looking for an individual with excellent customer service and communication skills, who is able to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team and is flexible for any sickness and holiday cover in a very busy, computerised surgery.

Pendle View Medical Centre is a 4 partner practice with over 8000 patients. We have a team of sessional GPs, a salaried GP, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Clinical Pharmacists, receptions and administration teams. We have great links with the PCN clinical offering further varied appointments.
