About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Naval Architect to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a Senior Naval Architect, you will play a key role in the design and development of complex naval vessels, working closely with our engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and author marine designs through concept and early-stage design, as well as supporting the bidding process.
- Contribute to design reviews and provide technical support to our key customers, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of engineering outputs.
- Act as Technical Authority and have deep subject knowledge of an aspect of marine engineering.
- Prepare and produce substantiation reports for marine solutions throughout the entire design lifecycle phases.
- Liaise with design teams and other stakeholders to ensure coordination and functionality of system designs.
Requirements
- Proven structural design experience from a highly regulated industry.
- Experience with appropriate analytical software such as stability software (Paramarine, NAPA, FORAN, Maxsurf), FEA, CFD and/or CAD.
- Experience of contributing to design reviews.
- HND/HNC Level qualification within an engineering discipline (degree level is advantageous).
- Ideally you will be a member of a relevant institution (e.g., RINA, IET, IMechE, IMarEst etc.) and hold Chartered or Incorporated status, or have a clear route to obtain.
