Engine Test Team Lead

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Engine Test Team Lead to manage our engine test support team in Northampton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of engine testing are carried out efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Manage the workload of the team to deliver projects in the correct priority and report project status to management.
- Ticket Management: Manage the ticket system used by dyno technicians/engineers to request support.
- Electrical Systems: Responsible for the electrical and electronic support systems of an engine installation on a dyno or rig.
- Drawings and Procedures: Produce electrical installation drawings and author local procedures.
- Maintenance and Calibration: Ensure that the dynos and rigs instrumentation is kept in calibration and set up additional instrumentation as required.
- Stock Control: Manage stock control of maintenance and consumable inventory.
- Instrumentation Records: Maintain instrumentation and calibration device records.
- Supplier Liaison: Select and liaise with suppliers.
- Administration: Administer the team's holiday, sickness and overtime records.
- Health and Safety: Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
- Data Protection: Support the Company's compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous experience working in an engine test support environment and be able to effectively manage your own and others' workload. You should also have a positive and proactive approach to sometimes changing project priorities and challenging new requirements.
You will be able to take ownership of problems and seek to successfully resolve them, either internally or by external collaboration. You should be able to progress multiple work streams, apply a structured and logical approach to work, and deliver in an organised and professional manner. Excellent time management and planning skills are essential, as is confident and clear verbal and written communication.
You will also need to have a good understanding of internal combustion engines and engine test methodologies. A BTEC, ONC or higher qualification in a relevant engineering discipline is desirable.
