About The Role

This position is responsible for implementing effective financial procedures and managing project costs associated with each project. The role acts as the primary point of contact for finance teams and ensures accurate and timely tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of capital and operating expenditure across our supply chain. Support our Finance Manager for Operations and the Project Accountant in developing a highly effective function that drives positive results and excellent working relationships across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and manage the financial aspects of various company projects on a planned and ad-hoc basis.
  2. Prepare and monitor project budgets, ensuring the projects remain within financial constraints.
  3. Collaborate with Project Managers and team members to manage budgets and understand project forecasts.
  4. Work with the Project Managers, Delivery Director, and other team members to analyze and report on the cost status of the project, highlighting performance trends and making recommendations for key actions.
  5. Prepare project cost studies and analysis of various project metrics for internal evaluation and reporting.
  6. Thoroughly maintain and organize records through memorialization and classification of specific objectives, processes, and results as determined on a project-by-project basis.
  7. Assist with reconciliation and maintenance of fixed assets, work in process, and segmentation of data and support for project phases.
  8. Support the Operation and Finance with accurate reporting of cash flow forecasts.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience of cost accounting practices, standards, systems, and processes.
  2. Knowledge of financial terms and principles.
  3. Analytical and quantitative skills, attention to detail/accuracy, problem-solving skills.
  4. Experience dealing with fixed assets, cost accounting on multiple projects.
  5. PC software applications, including Excel and Word.
