Cost Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Manager to join our team at Turner & Townsend Group. As a Cost Manager, you will be responsible for assisting on feasibility studies, estimating and cost planning, tendering and procuring, and dealing with post-contract cost variances.
You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide cost management solutions that meet their requirements. Your excellent communication skills and client-facing experience will be essential in building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
In addition to your technical skills, you will also be responsible for marketing and business development, including identifying opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and reporting such opportunities to the appropriate line manager.
As a Cost Manager, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from new build and fit-out projects to larger projects with values of £10m or over. You will be part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team that is committed to delivering high-quality services to our clients.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Cost Manager who is passionate about delivering excellent cost management services. If you have a degree in Quantity Surveying and experience working in the Real Estate/Property sector, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
- Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan
- Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documents
- Dealing effectively with post-contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable referring major changes to line manager
- Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
- Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
- Inputting into value engineering
- Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
- Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
- Where appropriate, leading a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
- UK Cost Management experience within the Real Estate/Property sector
- Experience working on larger projects of £10m value or over (or equivalent)
- Experience working on new build and fit-out projects
- Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience
