Exciting Opportunity at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Costing Team as a Trainee Costing Analyst. In this role, you will play a key part in developing our Patient Level Costing (PLICS) Model/Service Line reporting, working closely with stakeholders across the Trust to drive efficiency and support patient care.

As a Trainee Costing Analyst, you will support the development of the costing model in line with NHS England's Approved Costing guidance. You will also assist in the production of the Trust's mandatory costing returns, including the National Cost Collection (NCC), and work with non-finance staff and clinicians to ensure accurate costing information.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining the PLICS Model/Service Line reporting
  • Assisting in the production of the Trust's mandatory costing returns
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure accurate costing information
  • Supporting the development of the costing model in line with NHS England's Approved Costing guidance

Person Specification
  • Finance or Accountancy Degree
  • Knowledge of accounting processes
  • Knowledge of activity-based costing
  • Knowledge of acute hospital accounting processes including activity-based costing
Skills and Knowledge
  • Build excellent working relationships with all Finance Managers, Departmental Managers, and Corporate Directors.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the financial issues facing the NHS and able to interpret the impact of these issues on Chelsea & Westminster.
  • Understanding of Financial Systems and how best to develop them, in conjunction with desktop applications, to provide a high-quality reporting and analysis function.
  • Experienced user of Excel, Word.
  • Oracle Financial Systems and related applications.
  • E-Financials and related applications.
  • Knowledge and experience of SQL.
