Job Title: Assistant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic psychology team in the inpatient wards at Bolton. We work in a trauma-informed way, creatively engaging and connecting with our service users through various activities such as dance, music, boxing, gardening, and art.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the running of psychologically informed groups and 1:1 psychological interventions on the wards and PICUs under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
  • Assist Clinical Psychologists in enhancing and developing the psychological service provided to an adult acute psychiatric inpatient unit.
  • Conduct assessments, reviews, and consultations with clients, family members, and others involved in their care, under supervision.
  • Implement time-limited psychological interventions, involving creative engagement with clients with complex relational and risk-related needs.
  • Participate in relevant psychology audit/research projects related to Acute Care.
  • Develop knowledge of complex mental health and risk presentations through regular literature searches, reading, and personal study.
  • Maintain the highest standards of clinical and other record keeping.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all clinical records and confidential data in line with relevant professional codes of practice and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust policy procedures and guidelines.
