Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Psychologist to join our team at Gateway Recovery Centre in Widnes, Cheshire. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading the psychology department and providing specialist psychological treatment within mental health care services.

You will work closely with service users, assessing their complex needs and designing individualised interventions. Your expertise in cognitive functioning/management tools and formulation will be essential in developing effective treatment plans.

As a senior professional, you will provide guidance, support, and supervision to junior staff members, including mentoring and training. You will also contribute to Clinical Leads and Hospital Governance Meetings, ensuring that our services are delivered to the highest standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a Doctorate level qualification in applied psychology, enabling registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist. Strong competency in cognitive functioning/management tools and formulation is also essential.

You will be working in a state-of-the-art facility providing care for men and women with complex mental health requirements. Our hospital is split into four distinct areas: male autism service, assessment and rehabilitation for women, specialist inpatient service for older men, and low secure care setting for men with mental illness or personality disorder/mild LD.
