The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Care Companion to support a gentleman in his mid-fifties with a mild learning disability. The ideal candidate will be able to form a trusting relationship with the gentleman and provide companionship on a weekly basis.
The role involves accompanying the gentleman to local activities, such as rugby matches, providing transportation, and supporting him in accessing music events. The gentleman is flexible with his activities and enjoys socialising with others, but requires support due to his vulnerability.
The successful candidate will need to be able to support the gentleman in accessing and transporting to agreed social gatherings, as well as assisting with shopping. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
The salary for this position is estimated to be around £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience. DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post, and these costs will be met by the local authority.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, a patient and empathetic approach, and the ability to work independently. You will also need to be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
