About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Engagement Specialist to join our team in Sunderland. This 18-month fixed-term position is designed to develop and enhance Family Integrated Care across the region.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with care coordinators, clinicians, and representatives from all ten neonatal units to amplify the parent and family voice. You will also collaborate with the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) to drive service improvement and consistency across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement family engagement initiatives to meet national commitments outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan (2019)
  • Work across the region to champion consistency in neonatal services and foster relationships with care coordinators and local MNVPs
  • Compassionately seek out and listen to the voices of parents and families who have had a neonatal experience, helping shape services accordingly
Requirements
  • Car driver with ability to travel throughout the region
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the local region, neonatal units, and pathways
  • Strategic vision and operational implementation
  • Counselling or coaching qualification
