Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Trauma Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team at the Wales Medicines Strategy Group.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to coordinate care for major trauma patients, including discharge planning, transfer, and rehabilitation needs. As a key member of our team, you will act as a single point of contact for liaison with major trauma centres and trauma units.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide holistic assessments within 72 hours of inpatient stay, including commencement of rehabilitation prescriptions.
  • Ensure complete rehabilitation prescriptions for every patient.
  • Lead on development of links to rehabilitation services within trauma units, rehabilitation units, and community teams.
  • Coordinate rehabilitation matters for all major trauma patients during hospital admission.
  • Be a point of contact for patients, GPs, and other healthcare professionals regarding rehabilitation matters after discharge.
  • Provide effective case management for trauma patients, ensuring appropriate medical and therapy reviews and reducing delays.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable postgraduate experience in a rehabilitation setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective influencing or negotiating skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Proven evidence of strong analytical and judgement skills.
  • NMC or HCPC registration.
  • A Master's degree or equivalent proven knowledge and/or experience of major trauma rehabilitation.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location: Wales Medicines Strategy Group (remote working options available)
