The Clinical Pharmacy Team plays a vital role in supporting these services, working closely with clinicians, nurse specialists, and other allied healthcare professionals. As a Pharmacist Clinical Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-focused clinical pharmacy services for patients within Major Trauma and Trauma & Orthopaedic service lines.
About the Role- Develop a clinical interest within a chosen area of clinical practice to support clinical service to specific groups of patients within Major Trauma and Trauma & Orthopaedic service lines.
- Act as team leader for the ward-based pharmacy team and as team member of the Surgery Pharmacy
- Undertake teaching and clinical supervision of pharmacy staff and other healthcare employees.
- Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services and advice to the clinical specialties, demonstrating a high level of clinical effectiveness.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic clinical pharmacist with excellent knowledge of clinical pharmacy and drug use, particularly in the area of major trauma and orthopaedics. You should have demonstrable experience in a range of clinical specialties and proven skills in effective leadership, successful communication, negotiating, persuasion, and influencing.
As a senior clinical pharmacist, you will be required to work towards advanced clinical practice, engage in quality improvement and practice research, and participate in the development of policies and procedures relevant to pharmacy practice in Major Trauma and Trauma & Orthopaedics.
You will also be expected to contribute to pharmaceutical initiatives that help with the seamless transfer of patients between different healthcare settings and provide education and training to all healthcare professionals.
