Urology Training Programme Director - Medical Education Leader
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Urology Training Programme Director - Medical Education Leader. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Consultant in Urology with a passion for medical education to lead on the development of our recruitment and retention strategy and contribute to supporting our operational programme.
Main Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Head of School of Surgery to develop and implement a comprehensive medical workforce strategy, focusing on the recruitment and retention of Urology trainees within regional education programs.
- Support the Head of School to ensure effective systems for assessment, rotational management, trainee supervision, and support, as well as other functions within the school.
- Create and promote shared learning opportunities to enhance effective inter-professional working across the school.
- Consultant in Urology on the Specialist Register.
- Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
- Currently working as a Consultant in the NHS in the North West of England.
- Education Qualification such as Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Medical Education.
- Demonstrable leadership skills and ability to motivate others.
- A strong sense of vision and ability to innovate.
- Politically astute with an ability to sensitively manage complexity and uncertainty.
- Ability to problem-solve and maintain objectivity.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to quickly establish personal and professional credibility with colleagues and other key stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Committed to own personal development and ability to support others to develop and progress.
- Ability to rapidly establish academic credibility.
£80,000 - £100,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
