About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our Recovery Coordination team as a Peer Support Apprentice. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist support to individuals experiencing problematic substance misuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service users, providing tailored support to enable positive changes and improve their overall wellbeing.
  • Support the building and strengthening of sustainable peer-led recovery support and communities across Dorset, while working towards a recognized qualification in Adult Care.
  • Ensure a holistic approach to service delivery, addressing all aspects of wellbeing to achieve the best possible outcomes for every individual.
About You

We are looking for an individual with personal lived experience of alcohol/substance use and/or experience of accessing recovery services. You will be willing to undertake a Level 2 apprenticeship in Adult Care with a local training provider and have a basic understanding of IT.

As a successful candidate, you will be capable of independent travel across the area to meet with clients in community venues. Travel expenses will be covered.

As a Peer Support Apprentice, you will gain the skills and experience to apply for permanent roles within Humankind, such as a Support Worker and a Recovery Co-ordinator, with starting salaries ranging from £24,000-£30,000 per year.
