About the Role

The Payroll Consultant will lead various workstreams, analyzing existing payroll practices, working on payroll improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance, and reviewing iTrent system configuration/process challenges and prioritizing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Improve and optimize current payroll processes, incorporating good practice and implementing findings of a Payroll Review, improve understanding and capability within the existing team, and ensure that iTrent is utilized to its full capacity.
• Oversee payroll and work in partnership with the existing Payroll team to create and maintain a robust control framework within the iTrent payroll platform, ensuring that any process or activity is tested for accuracy, safety, and compliance, and financial and team member pay impact is understood, managed, and communicated.
• Develop clear accountability of processes within the function and the payroll RACI and ways of working with IT, HR, and Operations, ensuring appropriate governance, documentation, training, and support across the department.

• Provide ongoing support to the payroll team, addressing any technical or operational gaps and challenges identified during payroll processing.
• Prepare regular reports on payroll processing performance and system functionality.
• Create and implement standardized processes and procedures, driving a standard way of working across the payroll function.
• Carry out root cause analysis across a variety of processes, people, and iTrent system challenges, identifying and implementing solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Lead a variety of improvement workstreams and project groups, prioritizing and resolving key challenges and issues.
• Conduct regular tests and audits to ensure effectiveness and suitability of any solution, aligned to payroll regulations and organizational policy.
• Ensure the organization remains compliant across current regulations, legislation, and policy, through regular review.
• Develop comprehensive documentation for system processes, workflows, and training materials.
• Work closely with the team to ensure effective use of the iTrent payroll system, delivering tailored training sessions on functionality and capability.
• Support iTrent system testing for upgrades and enhancements, creating an environment of continual improvement.
