About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Psychology Assistant to join our team at Birmingham City Council. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our Educational Psychology Service, working closely with our team of Educational Psychologists to promote positive educational, social, and emotional outcomes for the city's children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with locality-based or city-wide casework, contributing to the development of innovative solutions to support children and young people.
  • Contribute to the delivery of training and development work, ensuring that our services are of the highest quality.
  • Support the statutory work of the service, working closely with our team to ensure that we meet our statutory obligations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective strategies to support children and young people.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure that our services are delivered in a way that is responsive to the needs of our clients.
Requirements
  • Good relevant undergraduate or postgraduate psychology degree qualifications (GBC eligibility).
  • Commitment to applying psychological knowledge in promoting positive educational, social, and emotional outcomes for children and young people.
  • Well-organized and able to take responsibility for managing your own workload.
  • Good communicator and able to work effectively in a team.
  • Commitment to partnership working and collaboration with colleagues.
