About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Community Mental Health Team, you will provide clinical leadership and expertise to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical expertise and clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and treatment for patients with complex psychiatric conditions
  • Participate in service and business planning activities for the locality and mental health service
  • Manage and appraise junior medical staff, providing professional supervision and support
  • Ensure that junior staff operate within the parameters of the New Deal and Working Time Directive

Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Section 12 approval or eligibility for S12 approval
  • Experience of working in general adult psychiatry and managing complex cases
  • Excellent clinical skills, communication skills, and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team
