Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist SLT, you will be responsible for assessing and treating adult patients with swallowing and communication disorders in an acute in-patient setting.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat adult patients with dysphagia and communication disorders in an acute in-patient setting
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans
  • Contribute to the development of the SLT team, including student supervision and in-house CPD
  • Participate in wider hospital initiatives to improve multidisciplinary working and patient outcomes
Person Specification
  • Several years of experience working as a qualified SLT in an adult in-patient setting
  • Competency in assessing and treating adult dysphagia and communication disorders
  • Experience of working with a wide range of adult acquired neurological disorders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications and Training
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Postgraduate qualification in adult dysphagia
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • High standard of spoken and written English language
