Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist SLT, you will be responsible for assessing and treating adult patients with dysphagia and communication disorders in an acute in-patient setting.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Assess and treat adult patients with dysphagia and communication disorders in an acute in-patient setting.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Conduct instrumental assessments and treatments for dysphagia, including FEES and other instrumental devices.
- Provide training and education to other healthcare professionals on communication and swallowing disorders.
- Contribute to the development of the SLT team, including student supervision and in-house CPD.
- Several years of experience working as a qualified SLT in an adult in-patient setting.
- Competency in and experience of independently assessing and treating adult dysphagia.
- Experience of assessing and treating adults with acquired communication disorders.
- Experience of working well with other professionals on acute wards.
- Experience of instrumental assessment in dysphagia.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Postgraduate qualification in adult dysphagia.
