Portfolio Manager Role

About the Role:

The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management of Portfolio services across the Currys Transformation Portfolio. This includes supporting the Lead Portfolio Manager, Head of Portfolio, and Strategic Change & Portfolio Director in improving governance controls and processes across the Portfolio, ensuring successful delivery of Projects and Programmes to desired budget, quality, and timeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the single source of truth across the portfolio, providing consolidated reports, KPIs, and dashboards to drive informed management decisions.
  • Produce and maintain core reporting requirements across the portfolio for all key meetings and stakeholders.
  • Manage and drive data inputs/outputs for the RAID management process, ensuring appropriate escalations and consolidating common themes.
  • Manage the Portfolio Roadmap and Plan, managing milestones, dependencies, and change.
  • Ensure robust Change Control across the portfolio, assessing upcoming changes against the Portfolio Plan and focusing on Critical Path.
  • Provide independent Quality Assurance for all projects and Programmes, prior to all Stage Gate Reviews at the Currys Change Board.
  • Support material preparation and scheduling for fortnightly Currys Change Boards.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across processes, creating efficiencies and best practices through coaching, training, and development.
  • Support the Lead Portfolio Manager in preparation and facilitation of all critical portfolio governance.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reporting, control, and portfolio management requests from the Lead Portfolio Manager or Head of Portfolio as required.

Requirements:

  • Excellent ability to influence people at all levels across the organisation and outside, including negotiating and successfully facilitating joint decision-making.
  • Ability to present effectively to senior management and communicate, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to identify highly complex critical issues and constructively challenge colleagues to improve programme delivery overall.
  • Microsoft packages (Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel).
  • Exceptional organisation, prioritisation, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and proven ability to deliver cost-effective solutions when met with difficult and challenging project impacting risks and issues.
  • Ability to think on feet and learn quickly.
  • Collaborative.
