Portfolio Manager Role

About the Role:

The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Currys Transformation Portfolio, ensuring successful delivery of projects and programmes within budget, quality, and on time. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to influence people at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the single source of truth across the portfolio, providing consolidated reports, KPIs, and dashboards to inform management decisions.
  • Produce and maintain core reporting requirements across the portfolio for key meetings and stakeholders.
  • Manage and drive data inputs/outputs for the RAID management process, ensuring appropriate escalations and consolidating common themes.
  • Manage the Portfolio Roadmap and Plan, overseeing milestones, dependencies, and change.
  • Ensure robust Change Control across the portfolio, assessing upcoming changes against the Portfolio Plan and focusing on Critical Path.
  • Provide independent Quality Assurance for all projects and programmes, prior to Stage Gate Reviews at the Currys Change Board.
  • Support material preparation and scheduling for fortnightly Currys Change Boards.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across processes, creating efficiencies and best practices through coaching, training, and development.
  • Support the Lead Portfolio Manager in preparation and facilitation of critical portfolio governance.

Requirements:

  • Excellent ability to influence people at all levels, including negotiating and facilitating joint decision-making.
  • Ability to present effectively to senior management and communicate with people at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to identify complex issues and constructively challenge colleagues to improve programme delivery.
  • Microsoft packages (Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel).
  • Exceptional organisation, prioritisation, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and proven ability to deliver cost-effective solutions when faced with difficult project risks and issues.
