About the Role
The Herne Bay Ophthalmology Services is seeking a part-time Administrator to join their team. As an Ophthalmology Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality Ophthalmology services to patients across Kent and Medway.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor patient call and recall systems to ensure timely communication and appointment scheduling.
- Book appointments for all services, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimal waiting times.
- Liaise with patients, hospitals, clinicians, and opticians to provide excellent customer service and support.
- Deal with patient medical queries, providing accurate information and signposting as necessary.
- Assist with maintaining stock levels, unpacking deliveries, and extracting data from correspondence for patient electronic healthcare records.
- Filing and scanning documents to ensure accurate and secure record-keeping.
About Us
The Herne Bay Ophthalmology Clinic is a joint venture owned and run by a partnership consisting of local GP Practices and Ophthalmic Surgeons. Our services are based at Beltinge and Reculver Surgery, a branch site of The Heron Medical Practice.
Person Specification
- GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above) Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral), strong IT skills, and a clear, polite telephone manner.
- Competent in the use of Office and Outlook, with effective time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously, with good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn and gain knowledge about Ophthalmology.
