About the Role

This fixed-term position offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to our research and develop valuable skills in instrumentation development, quantitative biophysics, and leadership. You will work closely with the team to design and employ novel forms of biophysical instrumentation, such as advanced optical tweezers and magnetic tweezers, to study DNA replication and chromatin organization at the single-molecule level.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop custom-built instrumentation for single-molecule experiments
  • Collaborate with group members to acquire data on DNA replication and chromatin organization
  • Analyze datasets using biophysical modeling and identify key insights into these complex biological processes
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced biophysicist with a Ph.D. degree in biophysics or a related field. The ideal candidate should have:

  • Practical experience in biophysical instrumentation and quantitative analysis
  • Strong knowledge of force spectroscopy methods and their applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • A willingness to develop an understanding of relevant biochemical concepts and mechanisms
