Alethiomics Ltd, a pioneering biotech company based at Oxford University's Old Road Campus, invites applications for the position of Research Technician in Oncology. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting core experimental activities and contributing to our mission of developing life-changing treatments for patients with blood cancer. We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual with experience in cell culture and a range of cell-based and biochemical assays. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimising new assays, analysing data, and participating in scientific discussions by presenting data and suggesting improvements to workflows. In addition, they will analyse data from internal and external data sources to support writing of reports and manuscripts.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £30,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. The selected candidate will be engaged on a 12-month fixed term contract, with potential for the role to be made permanent after this time. The full-time employee will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a BSc / MSc / PhD in Oncology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or a related discipline, along with 2+ years' experience in a research laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting. Additionally, experience in cell-based assays for testing pharmacology of molecules (small or biological) and molecular biology techniques, such as DNA/RNA extraction, cloning, PCR, qPCR, are highly desirable.
