Role Overview


As the General Manager of Marketing for Retail, you will play a pivotal role in driving business objectives and supporting each asset within the portfolio. This involves delivering marketing plans and budgets while enhancing the customer experience. You will work closely with the Retail Management Team and other stakeholders to ensure a deep understanding of the brand strategy and customer-centric activities.


Key Responsibilities



  • Manage and develop asset marketing teams across the region, championing GPT values and embedding them within the team.
  • Assist with budget formation and effectively manage marketing funds, ensuring monthly KPI reporting is recorded and shared across all marketing KPIs.
  • Business Planning: work with asset teams to cascade the Retail & Digital & Marketing Plan strategy into a marketing plan, aligning focus and opportunities to be addressed in the business plan.
  • Brand Development: develop a brand strategy and related collateral in consultation with the Head of Digital & Marketing and asset teams, aligning with the strategic marketing and overarching communications & brand strategy.
  • Championing the Customer: lead and support asset teams to identify customer pain points and assist with strategies to address these, implementing new customer-focused initiatives that are data-driven.
  • Launch Strategy: work with asset marketing teams to develop marketing strategies for the opening and stabilisation of each precinct or project within the allocated development budget.
  • Curation and Activation Strategy: drive and manage external experts and partnerships across art curation, activations, music, and unique 'magic' cultural events, working with asset and development management teams to develop a curation and activation strategy for new spaces.
  • Communication & PR Strategy: consult with external partners, the GM Marketing Campaigns & Content, and Corporate Comms team to develop and implement a communication and PR strategy during delivery of the repositioning and redevelopment.

Requirements



  • A tertiary-certified Marketing Manager with significant industry-related experience in senior marketing positions and a demonstrated ability to influence and lead.
  • An excellent attention to detail and ability to identify key priorities, develop timelines, and deliver key initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels within the business and the ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues.
  • A forward-thinking approach to all areas and a curiosity about marketing & digital and the future of the function.
