About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Dorset HealthCare. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing personal care and support to patients, including assistance with daily living activities
  • Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals and snacks
  • Supporting patients with their mobility and transfers
  • Assisting with the administration of medication
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to patients

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a basic standard of education, including a qualification in English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent)
  • Has experience of working with adults, including the elderly
  • Has experience of working in a health or social care setting
  • Has demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable the post holder to carry out the role effectively
  • Is reliable, patient, observant, and willing to learn
  • Is a team worker and flexible to meet the needs of the service, including some weekend working
