Job Overview: Health Care Assistant in SEND Setting

Location: Hornchurch

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Health Care Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education Ltd. as a Care Officer/ Health Care Assistant in a SEND provision.

This role involves supporting specialist students with Social/ Emotional/ Mental Health needs from the ages 16+ years. The ideal candidate will have a social care background and be empathetic and understanding of special educational needs or Social emotional, mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement care plans for each child, ensuring their physical, therapeutic, emotional, and social needs are met.
  2. Ensure the health and well-being of children, such as administering medication as needed.
  3. Keep accurate records of each child's progress, behaviour, and any incidents that occur.
  4. Work with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the child's care to ensure a comprehensive approach to their well-being.

Requirements:

  • A social care background or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with children with special needs.
  • Empathy and understanding of special educational needs or Social emotional, mental health.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
