Job Description

Job Title: Director of Scientific Research

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Scientific Research to join our team at Dallas VA Research Corporation. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading observational research projects and collaborating with internal stakeholders and industry experts to design, conduct, and publish research that informs decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage research projects involving the analysis of multiple types of data, including medical claims, electronic health records, registries, and prospective observational cohort studies.
  • Conduct evaluations of real-world data to ensure data meet standards for quality, validity, completeness, reliability, and applicability.
  • Conduct data landscaping reviews and data gap analyses to identify strategic opportunities to meet real-world evidence needs with fit-for-purpose real-world data.
  • Communicate with internal and external partners to manage and execute studies.
  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare research reports and scientific manuscripts.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of observational research and drug development.
  • Promote awareness, understanding, and use of observational research methods.
  • Communicate significant scientific information to a variety of audiences.

Requirements:

  • Degree educated in Epidemiology or other subject with high observational research content.
  • Previous experience in the design, execution, and analysis of observational research studies within Pharmaceutical or Public Health setting.
  • Experience working with secondary data systems, including administrative claims, EMR, registries.
  • Experience in observational research project planning and management to support drug development.
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous work experience in multi-disciplinary teams.
