Job Title: Product Safety Engineering Lead

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Salary: From £55,000 dependent on experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Product Safety Engineering Lead to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Safety Team, you will be responsible for supporting the production of the safety Build Assurance Justification and ensuring that the platform is being built to design intent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and ascertain the appropriateness of the Safety Argument and Safety Evidence provided by BAE
  • Liaise with the Barrow Safety Assurance Manager on any concessions where the Platform build differs from design intent
  • Act as the MOD technical liaison with Platform and Nuclear Propulsion build committees
  • Provide the safety interface with the propulsion/reactor/ships/weapons Test Groups

Requirements:

  • Strong stakeholder management skillsets and experiences with senior board levels
  • Programme management experience
  • Previous experience in build assurance or maritime platforms of complex systems
  • Good experience of technical risk management/governance procedures
  • Hold a degree within a STEM subject
