Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety

Location: Flexible working arrangements available

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead the development of a functional Safety Case for our submarine systems. As a key member of our Product Safety team, you will be responsible for managing the production of the Safety Case to a defined schedule, reporting to a Safety Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team in developing a functional Safety Case
  • Manage the production of the Safety Case to a defined schedule
  • Undertake complex safety analysis using techniques such as Fault Tree analysis and Event Tree Analysis
  • Produce written function safety justifications
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including System Engineers and Human Factors Subject Matter Experts

Requirements:

Essential:

  • STEM Degree or relevant experience
  • Leading a small team
  • Delivering functional Safety Cases
  • Complex safety analysis and justification

Desirable:

  • Previous submarine experience
  • Particularly Vehicle Control
  • Complex Control Systems
