Job Title:

Principal Engineer - Safety and Environmental Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Safety and Environmental team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical direction and expertise to ensure the safety and environmental integrity of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to engineers on safety and environmental matters
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in safety and environmental engineering
  • Support the development of individuals and teams to enhance skills and competencies
  • Define qualification obligations for assurance hold points during build, test, and commissioning
  • Undertake functional design and provide qualification and evidence for acceptance
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are met
Requirements:
  • Detailed understanding of safety and environmental concepts and principles
  • Significant experience in applying knowledge to a wide range of engineering issues
  • CEng level or equivalent level of capability
Desirable:
  • Experience in a team or project recognized as a source of authoritative knowledge
  • Knowledge within the Submarine or defence industry
  • Knowledge of Design, Manufacturing, assembly, Commissioning, and testing submarines lifecycle phases
