Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety Expert

Location: Flexible, with opportunities for remote work

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Trident System team. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for managing the Design Safety Statement and ensuring the Strategic Weapons System meets the required safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Design Safety Statement for the Strategic Weapons System
  • Liaise with the Trident Systems Project Team and US organisations to understand the Joint Safety Schedule
  • Review identified hazards for impact, mitigation options, and sentencing
  • Develop Design Safety Statement Coherency Plan for SWS and SWSS systems

Requirements:

  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in a STEM discipline or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in working on the development and/or maintenance of complex Safety Cases
  • Experience of integrating complex systems and/or systems engineering
